Landscape Photography in Seaside Oregon
Seaside Oregon is a small beach town about 70 miles from Portland Oregon. Considered the original Oregon Coast resort destination by many, Seaside continues to be one of the most popular travel destinations in Oregon. During the summer months tourists from around the Pacific Northwest head to the coast and pack the beaches. As longtime Seaside residents, we have had the opportunity to take hundreds of amazing Seaside photos. In this blog I wanted to share a few of our favorite landscape photos that we have taken over the years.
This incredible photo was taken by Brit Morrisey with a Canon DSLR. During the winter months the tourists go home and nature takes the beaches back. The Oregon Coast is known for its high-winds and heavy rain during the fall, winter, and early spring. As you can see from this photo the wind has created a unique wave texture in the sand that is undisturbed by foot prints.
Morrisey Productions is a Portland based video production company specializing in aerial video production. Over the years we have built a reputation as the premier Oregon drone company. Our aerial videography and photography services include real estate videos, tv commercials, aerial tours, tower inspections, fly overs, and more. Co-founder Seth Morrisey as recently gained is FAA Remote Drone Pilot Certification and can now offer commercial drone services. Plus, our company has over a 1 million dollar insurance policy on each job we take. Want to see more of our work? Check out our latest video Exploring Oregon 1.0.
Hawaii Drone Video 4K Filmed with DJI Inspire X5R
The Morrisey Productions crew recently took a trip to the Hawaiian Islands where we had the opportunity to capture some amazing footage with our new DJI Inspire X5R Drone. This amazing piece of technology can capture shoot in 4k and raw. After flying into Honolulu Airport we hopped on a small airplane and flew over to Molokai for 5 days. On Molokai we met up with a good friend Michele Judy who gave us a tour of the friendly island. After capturing some amazing footage we decided to fly back to Honolulu and do some filming on Waikiki Beach. Just our luck, Waikiki Beach was experiencing amazing 4-6 foot surf for the entire time we were there. Not only were we able to capture some incredible surf footage, we also had the opportunity to surf multiple hours each day. During our week stay on the island we hit up Bowls, Sandy’s, and the North Shore. Like usual, our DJI Inspire drone preformed flawlessly and we were able to capture incredible footage throughout the week. Our good friend Michele Judy and a few of her friends were kind enough to do some modeling for us during the video shoots. Overall, it was an incredible experience and we are excited to share the finished product with you.
Samuel Boardman State Park and Scenic Corridor Photography
Samuel Boardman State Park and Scenic Corridor is located on the Southern Oregon Coast. A few miles South of Gold Beach and North of Brookings, Samuel Boardman features some of the most beautiful coastline in the entire Pacific Northwest including dozens of different beaches and viewpoints. The Morrisey Productions crew recently embarked on road trip to capture footage with our new DJI Inspire Raw 4k Drone. We also recently acquired a new wide angle lens for our Cannon 5D camera that we wanted to test out as well. Our adventure began in Medford Oregon where we captured some breathtaking footage of the Table Rocks. This location is just outside of Medford and steeped with lore due to the fact that a giant battle with Native American Indians took place on top of the flat rock bluff. From there we traveled West down the Redwoods Highway and through Jedidiah Smith State Park until we ended up on the Northern tip of the California Coast. After a brief pause to check the surf in Crescent City, we started traveling north up Highway 101 until we reached the Samuel Boardman Scenic Corridor. This area is without a doubt one of the most scenic areas I have ever scene, in fact, the beach in which this photo was taken is one of my all time favorite places on earth. Known to some as “secret beach” this location is about a 1.5 mile hike from the road and is well worth the trip. While at Samuel Boardman State Park we were able to catch some amazing drone aerial footage that we will release at some point in the future. Check out our previous Oregon Coast video to see a sample of our work.

Don’t Catch This Wave | Seaside High School Tsunami Project
A small group of Seaside High School seniors decided to take it upon themselves to spread awareness about the tsunami risk on the Oregon Coast. Scientist predict that a possible 8 point magnitude tsunami could potential be triggered off the Oregon Coast. The Juan de Fuca Tectonic Plate sits about 20 miles off the coast of Seaside Oregon and experts predict that if an earth quake were to hit it could trigger a massive tsunami that could potential wipe out Seaside, Cannon Beach, Astoria and every other town along the West Coast. If your interested in learning more about the Seaside High School Associated Student Body Tsunami Awareness Pacifica Project then follow them on Facebook.
Peter Iredale Shipwreck Oregon Coast
The Peter Iredale Ship crashed in 1906 near the Mouth of the Columbia. The crash site is located in Fort Stevens State Park near Warrenton Oregon. The ship was never removed from the beach and has been slowly decomposing ever since. The Peter Iredale ship Wreck on the Oregon Coast has become a popular tourist destination for both photographers and sightseers. The best way to access the site of the shipwreck is to turn of Highway 101 at Warrenton heading West towards the ocean. From there, find your way to Fort Stevens State Park and then simply follow the signs to the crash site. As a local Oregon Coast photographer I decided to capture my version of this iconic structure. While we were at the crash location we also filmed a few clips with our DJI Phantom Drone and Hero Go Pro 4k Camera. The footage has not been released yet, you can see other amazing Oregon landmarks in our Oregon Coast Drone Video. Our passion is to capture the scenic beauty of the Pacific Northwest in our unique way. The State of Oregon has so much to offer landscape photographers that it never gets old capturing it’s unique and rugged beauty. The Morrisey Productions crew is currently working on a new drone video that will feature locations from the mouth of the Columbia River to as far south as Brookings. We recently upgraded all our camera gear including purchasing the new DJI Inspire 2 Drone capable of shooting 4k Raw Footage taking our production quality to a new level. Oregon Coast Aerial Video | DJI Phantom Drone

Our passion is to capture the beauty of the Oregon Coast and Pacific Northwest through video and photography. As a lifelong Oregon Coast resident, I never get tired of living at the beach. This is an amazing area to capture aerial videography and photography. As new drone pilots, we have been logging tons of flights to improve our skills and to capture better footage.
Over the past few years we have been flying our DJI Phantom Drone perfecting the art of aerial video production. Our DJI Phantom aerial craft has been heavily modified for video production including a new gimbal, motors, propellors, upgraded antena, controller, viewing screen, camera, and more. We are able to fly continuously for approximately 20 minutes at a distance of several miles. The camera attached to our DJI is capable of filming in 4k quality making it ideal for film production or TV Commercials. These drone clips were filmed over a year ago and we decided to finally release them in a video. Currently, we have logged more than 100 perfect drone flights without a single accident. In the future we plan on continuing to produce breathtaking aerial videos of scenic locations around the world. This year for the first time we entered the the 2015 Oregon Coast Film Festival with our film Oregon Backpacking Adventure . Currently we are not offering our drone services to the general public. We are still waiting on FAA regulations, licensing, and approval before we offer commercial drone services. If your interested in our aerial video services or would like to sponsor a video, contact us on our website to be notified as soon as we are approved by the FAA to offer commercial aerial services.
Here are some screenshots of us at various filming locations in Cannon Beach and Seaside Oregon.
